- one way to run commands as root is using su - to start a new shell
- su is all or nothing
- sudo is finer-grained, prevents compromise of root password
- as root:  visudo
- %wheel   ALL=(ALL) NOPASSWD: ALL
- %users localhost=/usr/bin/eject
